Android 12 has introduced a whole host of changes, but not all of them are pop among users. One of those is the modify to the power bill of fare — the carte du jour that appears when you lot agree the power button — which is drastically dissimilar to its analogue in Android 11.

The chief complaint is the removal of the G Pay and Home device controls inside the ability menu itself. Now, information technology's just a iii-button bill of fare with Power Off, Reset, Emergency. The same controls were moved to Quick Settings.

Some users and outlets are saying the power carte is ruined, but fifty-fifty some Googlers have chimed in on the consequence. Over on Google'south issue tracker, someone raised this "problem" and a Googler responded:

"If this is intentional, our product is doomed."

Talk about hyperbole. While saying the ability bill of fare is "ruined" is quite a stretch, I'm on the fence about this 1. I don't mind the controls existence moved to Quick Settings — especially since I've never used the One thousand Pay controls in the power menu and just tap my telephone to a reader — but I do miss like shooting fish in a barrel access to Home device toggles, like my lights.

Take what you will from this. Perhaps information technology was change for change'southward sake, or maybe Google thought those controls were meliorate suited for Quick Settings. If zippo else, I liked having them tucked away in the power menu to go on them out of sight unless I needed them. Like I said, though, I'm non hung up on this, but maybe I'k in the minority.

Android 12 is still in beta form, so it's possible that Google might opposite this change before the final release. At that place seem to be quite a few people upset by it, then who knows.
